Kim Annand came from humble beginnings to become an award-winning photographer, completing her photography diploma and giving back to the community by volunteering her time at charity and photographic events. Kim is also a family law lawyer whose work as an advocate for abused children motivates her to create images that focus on social issues. She tends to use masks in her images to encourage the viewer to pay attention and to signify that anyone can be the subject. her humble roots also inspire her to shoot images in abandoned places, finding intriguing stories in the ruins.
kim is always striving to create images that challenge the status quo, providing unique and thought-provoking pieces. Her future works will include photographs as paintings (renaissance/others), mimics of almost any photograph a client wishes, and further pieces in her ape/anthropocentric series.
